In Memory of Christopher Moseley
|
Dear friend and member of the FEL Community,
I am writing with great sadness and pain to inform you of the loss of one of our dearest friends and a central figure in FEL history. Christopher Moseley, the Vice-Chair and co-founder of the Foundation for Endangered Languages, passed away a few days ago after a long illness. Many of you have met Chris, especially at the FEL annual conferences, and will remember his gentle manner, unassuming personality, and exceptional kindness and generosity. Chris will be remembered by numerous friends and colleagues he encountered while working at the BBC, University College London, FEL, as well as various networks. There will be a memorial service for him later in November for those who can attend in England, and FEL will devote time and space to his memory. Should you wish to make a contribution, share an anecdote, or express your feelings about Chris, please send them to fel1@ogmios.org. We would be grateful if you could do so as soon as possible. Again, with a heavy heart, my best regards to all. Salem Salem MezhoudHonorary Secretary The Foundation for Endangered languages |
